E-Dub & Khool Aid's New "BeatBox Pros" Studio Construction Underway

Edward "E-Dub" Rios & Khool Aid's new BeatBox Pros studio construction is now underway!

The new facility is located in Sherman Oaks, CA, and is being designed by Dave Hampton (clients include: RZA, M.I.A., Prince, Herbie Hancock, Justin Timberlake, Babyface, Marcus Miller, DJ Numark, Rafael Saadiq, Maxwell, Chicago, Organized Noyze, and  Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis), and will consist of four recording studios.

Along with offices for their syndication comapany, Radio Syndicate and record label, Silent Giant Entertainment, a showroom for E-Dub & Khool Aid's newly established BeatBox Pros store, will also be under the same roof. BeatBox Pros specializes in classic drum machines and samplers like E-mu SP 1200, Roland TR-808, Ensoniq ASR-10, and Akai MPC3000.

This new venture will stride E-Dub and Khool Aid into one of their dreams, which is owning and operating a "Class A" recording facility. The two launched their mission in 1999 from E-Dub's father's garage in Oxnard, CA (see LA Times newspaper clippings), when they developed the now legendary, nationally syndicated Pocos Pero Locos Latin Hip Hop radio show, which has evolved into a lifestyle that includes it's own social network and new iPhone app. When the couple purchased their first home, they moved the show's production into the garage studio which E-Dub physically built himself. The program has been produced for 10 years from the same location, and is heritage in markets across the country.

Out of the same house, in 2001, they established the independent record label Silent Giant Entertainment, which has released titles from Spanish F.L.Y., Ese Daz, Mr. Shadow, Slow Pain, Down and the Pocos Pero Locos compilation series. The label has achieved substantial success and has earned gold certification and Billboard Mastertone of the Year Award for the smash "Lean Like A Cholo".
